Assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world.

So Many Exciting Things Happening!

It is a great time to be a Scarlet! We have had a fantastic start to this school year, with our Senior Class providing strong, positive leadership. Homecoming was amazing, from the Hall of Fame banquet to Coronation; it was an incredible celebration of our Scarlet community!

Thank you to all of our families who were able to join us for conferences. "It takes a village to raise a child" and that continues on through the teenage years. We welcome opportunities to partner with families to ensure our students are being challenged, supported, and developing the knowledge and skills they will need in the adult world.

October is College Knowledge Month

Our Counseling Department has been busy promoting College Knowledge Month. Many seniors took advantage of College Knowledge Day on October 4 in the Media Center and the FAFSA information night during conferences. Seniors, remember to stay on top of your applications and stop in the counseling office if you have any questions in regard to submitting your college applications.

Boys Soccer State Tournament

Congratulations to our Boys Soccer team! We will be having a state send-off at 2:00 on October 23 as our Scarlets will take on Orono at 7:30pm in Farmington in Round 1 of tournament play.

If our Scarlets win, they will play at U.S. Bank Stadium on Monday, October 28, at 6:00pm.

Freshman Retreat

On Tuesday, October 29, our Link Crew leaders will be engaging our freshmen in a Respect Retreat. This is a great opportunity to continue building a culture of respect with the freshmen while engaging them in high quality conversations with their Link Crew leader. All freshmen will participate in the Respect Retreat.

AP Exams

Is your student taking an AP course? If so, be sure to register for the AP Exams. Although the exams are administered in May, registration must be completed by November 1.

Please note that the student must create an account, register, and submit payment by November 1 if they plan to take an AP exam.

ACT Practice Test

ACT® is working on an online version of the National ACT test®. As part of that development effort, they are conducting a series of studies, and our school has the opportunity to participate in the December ACT Timing Study.

We encourage all juniors to take advantage of this opportunity. Please sign up in the counseling office by October 31 to participate.

Reasons to Participate

  1. Your 11th grade students will get real ACT test prep experience and will receive raw scores sent to schools 6-8 weeks after testing. Students will not receive college reportable scores for participating in this study.
  2. After the study, our school will also get a test booklet with answer key for each student that participates that you can use to enhance their test prep experience.
  3. Our school will be part of the development effort for the next generation ACT test and provide important feedback on our platform and test administration procedures.
  4. Our school can earn $20 for each student tested as part of this study.
