CMMS Families,
Leadership Service Learning Project:
Our leadership students are collecting plastic bags in order to make sleeping mats to support the homeless. It takes 500-700 bags to make a single mat. Please send in any bags you have to the front office or ASB office. We appreciate your help supporting our students while they help our community! View the informational video by CLICKING HERE or view it below.
Winter 2 Sports:
The Winter 2 Sports season will be kicking off soon for Boys' Soccer, Boys' Basketball, and Girls' Soccer. Tryouts begin Monday, January 27th, so make sure you have all the requirements fulfilled before that date so you are cleared to participate, see our "How To" PDF flyer below for step by step directions to sign up for Winter 2 sports! Contact dokennedy@bethelsd.org with any questions related to athletics.
STAR Benchmark Testing:
All students will be tested on STAR math and reading over the next two weeks.
It is VERY important that students do their best on the STAR benchmark tests. The teachers and I will use this information to plan for next instructional steps based on this data. We need to know what students already know, and what they still need to learn. That is the true purpose of any assessment! Work hard and persevere CMMS students, you got this!
Winter One Dance:
The Winter One Dance is next Thursday, January 23, 2020. The criteria for attending this event is NO DISCIPLINE since October 24, 2019 (which was the last time we had a dance), and students MUST BE PASSING CLASSES. Students with two or more I or F grades MAY NOT attend. That means students need to have all grades/work/assessments submitted and good to go by this Friday, January 17, 2020. We will pull the data for the dance on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
As always, we expect students to maintain passing grades consistently by staying actively engaged in lessons and following all Cougar Pride expectations each and every day here at school. We encourage student-initiated responsibility by checking Skyward for grades, attendance and discipline infractions. Yes, I have high expectations for all students, but we also provide very high levels of support for students to attain high levels of learning and citizenship skills.
Concession Stand Item Survey:
Our amazing Boosters and our ASB team would like for you to take a brief survey to indicate the items you would like to have available at our concessions stands and events. Students received there own survey as well. CLICK THIS LINK TO TAKE THE CONCESSION STAND SURVEY!
INFORMATION REGARDING STUDENT TRANSFER REQUESTS FOR 2020-2021:
- First consideration deadline for accepting student transfer requests for the 2020-21 school year will be March 6, 2020 for all grades, K-12. Requests received after the deadline may not be considered until the week of August 24, 2020. Requests submitted after August 24, 2020 will be reviewed after September 18, 2020 when actual enrollment counts are in. A student transfer request form may be completed and submitted online from the district’s website beginning January 6, 2020.
- All transfer requests for 2020-2021 will be done electronically. If the request is submitted by March 6,2020 parents will be notified by April 15, 2020 if the request has been approved or denied. Approval or denial of transfer requests will be based on established criteria outlined in board policies and procedures 3131 and 3141.
