1:10-1:45 PM/K, Grade 1 and Grade 2
Grade 2 Friends: Please bring a pair of fun, holiday socks for a special craft!
Frenchtown Annual Holiday House will be held on Thursday and Friday!
Several families have been invited in to come in to shop and wrap gift items to prepare for their family celebration. Various food items from the food pantry will be available as well.
Thank you again for your participation. Your thoughtfulness really makes a difference!
It's not too late to participate!
Your donations are always appreciated!
In the classrooms:
First graders are continuing to use addition and subtraction within twenty to solve word problems.
First graders continue to work on CVC short vowel pattern words with initial s blends (sk,sl,sm,sn,sp,st and sw). Children are learning contraction words as well as singular and plural nouns. In fundations children are extending their vocabulary for homonyms and synonyms using their word of the day cards as a basis for discussion.
Parents are doing a great job sending in donations for our gingerbread house project. We appreciate all your help. Please remember to get a background check into the office if you plan on volunteering for the project on the 21st.
Second grade students are continuing to practice their subtraction skills with larger numbers. They are all learning to check their own answers using addition. We are also working on coin recognition and values.
We have been busy reading and learning about different customs for various Winter Holidays. The children love having parent volunteers come in to read.
Parents should stay tuned for a fun upcoming Holiday event for the students.
Thoughts from our Frenchtown Friends: "What will you be doing over December vacation?"
Riley: "See Santa."
Jonathan: "Celebrating Christmas."
Layla: "Going to my cousin's house to celebrate Christmas."
Sophia: "We're going on a cruise."
Sydney: "I'm going to Martha's Vineyard for my birthday."
Adam: "I'm staying home playing with my IPad."
Happy Birthday to our Frenchtown Friends!
