Students, this is week three of the grading period. Please continue checking Skyward for missing and low grades before progress report grades go out.
Semester exam reviews will be available soon. For many, this will be the first time to experience semester exams. Semester exams are calculated in as 1/7th of the semester average.

We are continuing our unit: Kid Tested. Marketing Approved. Students should bring an empty cereal box to class when they have a completed design.

Students will be presenting their children’s books and beginning our next unit. Students should come to class with chromebooks charged and ready to go!

We will be culminating our Force and Motion Unit: Need for Speed by building edible cars this week.
Students should have a list of (edible) supplies that they are to bring for the week (failure to bring supplies, means their group will have trouble building their car)

We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving break! We are back and ready to finish out this first semester strong!
This week we will begin working on a new unit using the Engage Learning Model and estudio. Students will be reviewing all of the concepts we have learned so far this year in order to create a review/quiz/presentation/game over an assigned concept.
Ms. Gregg will be out on Thursday, but students will continue in estudio with the sub.

Accelerated Math ~ Ms. Whitfield
Welcome back! We’re ready to finish out the semester strong! We will have a review and knowledge check over Pythagorean Theorem on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday we will continue our geometry unit with section 9, Volume of 3-dimensional figures. There will be a knowledge check over volume the following week.
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, and Mrs. Strother
We will introduce South America and read literature from various nations within the continent. Students will analyze a nonfiction passage on the Amazon and create a comic strip demonstrating their knowledge of plot and dialogue.
Art ~ Mrs. Beam
We will critique and review our artist statements from our Color + Emotion unit. We will begin our final project for the semester this week as well. This project will continue to use watercolor.
Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert
Student need to continue practicing, our winter concert is right around the corner! Please make sure they are practicing everyday. The goal should be a minimum of 15-20 minutes per day of focused, purposeful practice. After school rehearsals are 12/2 and 12/5 from 4-5:15pm. Winter concert is 12/6 at BHS students report at 5:45, concert is at 6:30.
