When asked about DLB and their book, the students said...
- They just finished a good book (A to Z Mysteries) and their favorite character was Ruth Rose.
- DLB "rocks" and is "awesome"
- They like Dan Guttman books!
D.E.A.R.
D.E.A.R. stands for Drop Everything and Read. As part of "I love to read" month, Wagner students have spontaneous D.E.A.R. times throughout the week. As a result, they have to carry their books with them everywhere and when they hear the dogs barking on the intercom it's time to pull out their books and read for 20 minutes (teachers too!).
Read across the trail
Wagner students are on their way to reading 1,161 books in February to represent the 1,161 miles from Anchorage to Nome in the Iditarod Race. The trail runs through Wagner and after every book students sign their name and the book they read on a paw print to hang along the trail.
Please encourage your son or daughter to keep reading!
Pennies for Patients
Pennies for Patients, Wagner's annual fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, begins this February. It will run from February 2nd through the 20th. More information coming!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences are on February 10th and 12th (next Tuesday and Thursday). If you haven't signed up for a conference yet, please follow the link in the email from the school or contact your child's teacher.
