BVHS Vocal Music Choirs perform at Holiday Sing!
Our Amazing VMD performs at district Holiday Sing!
The Vocal Music Deptartment combined choirs (Music Machines, Sound Unlimited, and Lady Tones) gave an amazing performances at the district's Holiday Sing events on this past week at Bonita Valley Community Church.

Donations to help the Fire Evacuation Centers in Ventura County
Two of our IB Diploma Candidates (Cecilia Fridge and Tirecke Welbeck) were students at another IB World School last year in Ventura County. Their previous school has been impacted by the evacuation orders due to fires. They are looking to gather any supplies (foods, blankets, clothes, toys for the holidays, water, toiletries, etc) to send up to the evacuation centers in Ventura County. Donation boxes will be placed in some classrooms around campus (the main drop-off location will be Mr. Vallejo’s room – 211). Anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated by those in need! Thank you for your support.

Fall Student Support Groups
Our Fall student support groups are in session. We are serving over 150 students in a variety of groups: Positive Thinking, Girls-to-Women, Boys-to-Men, Body Image, Sexual Orientation, and Family. These group counseling sessions are helpful in assisting our students learn to better address their personal situations and increase their coping skills and resiliency. Confidentiality of a student’s participation must be highly maintained. For more information about support groups, please contact your student's counselor.
Athletics Department Announcements
Athletic Director Message to Parents:
Final exams start this Tuesday and run through Thursday (Dec. 12--14). . Please make sure your student athletes are planning study time around games and practices. Please ensure they are getting plenty of rest during this time and remember our athletes are students first! Semester grades will be coming out on Friday. The way athletic eligibility is enforced is the grades go into effect on Friday night at midnight. So if your son or daughter was eligible/ineligible they stay that way until Friday night at midnight. The new grades go into effect starting Saturday, so if your son/daughter becomes eligible/ineligible due to the semester grades, this occurs starting Saturday Morning!
Sports Clearance System
Parents,
Please don’t wait for the last second to clear your son or daughter for Winter sports. Registration is open now. Please visit registermyathlete.com or bonitavistabarons.com to get started. If your son or daughter would like to play sports for the high school, they need to go to our ASB and get a clearance packet. The following sports are offered during the Winter season: Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Wrestling, Roller Hockey and Girls Water Polo.

Official Hours: 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (Afterschool Homework Center is usually open until 4:30 for tutoring, homework, group projects, and computer use on Monday through Thursday and most Fridays.) BVH School Site Council
The role of the School Site Council (SSC) is to annually evaluate, monitor, and implement the school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) which sets our school goals and objectives based on student data and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).The School Site Council is comprised of the principal, teachers, non-classroom staff, parents, and students. Annual Student Santa Shop Event
Dear SUHSD Colleagues,
Every year, we have an opportunity to bring some holiday cheer to some of our students and their families! Please find included the referral form you can use to refer a family who may benefit from this great event scheduled for December 13th from 9:00 am-2:00 pm! Please note all gifts and food provided to our families are donated by kind-hearted individuals like all of you!
We invite you to support our families with our Annual Student Santa Shop Event by helping us gather as many gift cards ($15) as possible. Our middle and high school students are offered a gift card when they come in with their families as the toys donated are not always age appropriate. Our goal is to collect up to 50 gift cards by Friday, December 8th, 2017. All gift cards can be sent to the Student support Services office.
