Developing 21st-Century Critical Thinkers
Where do I start?!
Creativity is not a waste of time in your classroom. If you look at the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy creativity is at the top of the pyramid because it does involve and promote critical thinking! Students need to be able analyze, organize, and synthesize information to create something new. These are skills students will need for college and career readiness.
Here are a few things you can do:
- View creativity as a positive.
- Give students choices.
- Bring in outside resources to illustrate a concept.
- Provide opportunities for students to make and share connections.
- Allow students to research and create projects.
- Integrate the multiple intelligences into your lessons.
- Allow students to work in groups.
