ONE Community
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

Upper School Orientation/Open House
In order to prepare you and our Upper School students for the start of the school year, we invite you to attend our Orientation/Open House on Monday, August 7. This meeting will be most beneficial for parents, but students are also welcome to attend. The evening will consist of a short informational session in the gym, followed by an abbreviated school day walk through where you will go to each of your child’s classes to meet the teacher and receive a brief introduction to the class.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
5:30 – 6:00 Middle School (grades 6-8) Information Session in the gym (speakers include the Head of School, Principal, and Athletic Director)
6:00 – 6:56 Middle School students and parents follow the bell schedule and attend each class for 5 minutes
*Due to the large number of people we expect at this event, we ask that the middle school parents and students exit the building and parking lots as quickly as possible once the middle school orientation is complete. We thank you in advance for honoring this request!
7:15 – 7:45 High School (grades 9-12) Information Session in the gym (speakers include the Head of School, Principals, and Athletic Director)
7:45 – 8:41 High School students and parents follow the bell schedule and attend each class for 5 minutes
Please print a copy of your child’s schedule to bring with you to the Orientation/Open House.
We will have information tables staffed from 5:15-8:30 to answer last minute questions and accept paperwork. Tables will include transportation and parking, technology, cafeteria, WAYS and athletics.
The Upper School Nurse will be available to take medical forms and medication from 5:15-8:30. Be on the look out for an email from Mrs. Hendrix with medical forms attached.
We hope that you will make every effort to attend this informative event.
Upper School Handbook
Shuttle
Car Line Signs
Below is a link to our car line template. Please write your student’s name on the template and display it clearly in your window at pick up. There are also several examples of how the name/names should appear on the sign. Please write neatly and make the letters broad so that it can be seen by the faculty member that is calling names. There will be templates and markers available at open house at the transportation table in the gym, also.
Book Covers
Students will be required to cover all textbooks with paper covers. The brown grocery bags work very well for this. This will provide more protection for the books and will help to extend their life and usefulness.
Below is a link that has a tutorial on covering textbooks in paper. Please refer to the Upper School Handbook for more information on the care of textbooks. Thank you for partnering with us to care for these valuable resources.
Blessings,
