Universal Children's Day

Happy Universal Children's Day...well, month!

It's hard to believe, but we are already at the end of November. We survived Thanksgiving and Christmas is right around the corner. Let's face it, though. We don't often get to focus on anything else during this time. It's all about cooking the perfect meal, and shopping for the best deals for Christmas. I want to talk about a day that gets lost during this month.

Universal Children's Day. What does this day mean? The United Nations' Universal Children's Day was established in 1954, and is celebrated on November 20th each year to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide. Universal Children's Day is not just a day to celebrate children for who they are, but to bring awareness to children around the globe.

Let's do that. Let's celebrate our children for who they are! Your child brings something special, regardless of their disability! Your child is capable and has so much to offer! Let's focus on what those abilities and those strengths, so they can lead a proud and fulfilling life.
