Active listening

STOP TALKING
You have two ears and one mouth. You cannot listen if you are talking. Listening skills are important and you could miss very important information if you're talking.
Practice Makes Perfect!
Practice on focusing on what the person is actually saying. By concentrating on what the person is saying, it eliminates distractions. Don't focus on the ability of the speaker rather than what is being said.
If you have a question, ask!
If you have a question about something wait until after the person is done talking. If you are going to forget the question, write it down. Ask at the end so others don't get distracted.
