Earth Day Town-Wide Clean Up is Coming on Saturday, April 23, 2016

Please lend a hand in helping keep Nutley clean. Community involvement is key to a successful town, and service above self will add pride to all who participate. Come join us and be an active part of a green community. Volunteerism is what makes Nutley a unique and successful town. Teams and individuals will be assigned a Park or School unless otherwise specified. All are encouraged to pitch in and help clean up our parks, schools and other designated areas. We encourage residents to make this a family event! Bring your Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Brothers and Sisters to help make Nutley’s Earth Day Project a success! Meetings have been scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 2016 and Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Building, Room 300. We will be developing teams and team leaders. If you need further information please contact the Nutley Parks and Recreation Department between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at 973-284-4966.
FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES K - 6 THERE WILL BE AN "EARTH DAY" POSTER CONTEST. The posters will be judged in three categories: K & 1st, 2nd - 4th, 5th & 6th. On the back of the poster please include Name, Address, Grade, School and Phone Number. Poster should be submitted no later than Monday, April 18th. The winning posters will be displayed for all the Earth Day attendees to see. A closing ceremony will be held in Kingsland Park at @ 3:30 p.m. Poster Contest Winner will be awarded and refreshments will be served. * NEW* Mad Science will be here for an interactive science show @ 4:15 p.m. Please fill out the registration form and submit it to the Parks & Recreation Department, 44 Park Avenue by Friday, April 15, 2016. Township of Nutley Child ID Day
Chief Thomas Strumolo and Mayor Alphonse Petracco along with the Nutley Police Department are hosting a Child ID Day on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 am – 12:00 noon for Nutley residents only. They will be providing free child identification cards for interested parents/guardians at the Nutley Police Department located at 228 Chestnut Street, Nutley. There will be hot dogs and giveaways for the children. In addition, our Traffic Safety Officers will be available for free car seat inspections.
