A Message from the Principal...
Dear friends,
I would like to begin with a reminder of our minimum days this week. Teachers, we will be meeting in the LRC from 1:15-3:30 on Tuesday with a focus on safety. Our specific agenda is threefold:
- Review safety procedures
- Review Hate/Harassment policy roles and responsiblities
- Trauma Informed Practices training (part 1)
On Wednesday, teachers will be meeting in teams to collaborate on a variety of team-decided issues. Please contact your I Team representative for your specific agenda. Classified office staff, we will be meeting with you on Wednesday afternoon to discuss school safety and a variety of other issues. Look for a separate email with more specifics on Monday.
I will close with a request for help. A former student who attended Twin Peaks during the mid-1980's is trying to track down his former history teacher. Perhaps some of you will be able to provide some insights. I encourage all of you to read his email, though. It is really a much-needed feel good story about how one teacher impacted him so deeply that he decided to become a teacher himself. This is a timely reminder of the positive influence we can all have upon the students we encounter.
Thank you so much for all you do!
Sincerely,

ACTION NEEDED
AVID and Cultivating our College Spirit
Twin Peaks RAM
College Culture
Phase 1: At the beginning of the school year, we adopted colleges and universities to represent our RAM class. During the Fall AVID students wrote to your colleges asking for donations to support your RAM class. Many colleges have replied with generous donations of college information and college pennants. We are working on getting pennants for the classes that did not receive one.
Phase 2: In your classroom, we encourage you to create a college-going culture by:
Decorating your door to represent your RAM college.
Creating your college wall - share information about the college(s) you attend, display your college diploma(s), and/or anything to represent your alma mater.
Gate Schedule
Please, know that to ensure the safety of our campus, we are asking that all gates to remain locked and secured during the school day. So, if you leave campus, please make sure the gates are locked behind you, after you leave. Due to safety concerns the following schedule will be followed pertaining all gates on our campus:
8:00 am – All perimeter gates will be opened for students to enter campus (Thursday = 8:50am)
8:30 am – All perimeter gates will be locked (Thurs. = 9:20am)
3:05 pm – Gates opened (Twin Peaks Road stairs gate and Fire Lane gate)
3:30 pm – Fire Lane relocked (pedestrian gate and Twin Peaks stairs gate will remain open)
