HOWBERT GUIDING COALITION- Last Meeting

We will be having our final guiding coalition meeting on Thursday, May 12th from 5:00-6:00. You can attend in-person at Howbert or via Webex at: Virtual Guiding Coalition Meeting


At this meeting I will be sharing:

  • information about teacher class assignments.
  • changes to Howbert staff for 2022-2023
  • 5 Essentials results


I will also ask for ideas and feedback about:

  • Parent/guardian involvement
  • Parent/guardian communication
  • Front of school plans

It’s time again to spoil our Howbert teachers!

May 2 - May 6 is National Staff Appreciation Week.

Please consider a way that you and your student(s) can show gratitude to our outstanding teachers at Howbert!

And don't forget the specialist teachers that are also a huge support to Howbert students.

DAD CARWASH FOR TEACHERS

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR 2022-2023 at Howbert

We are looking at the possibility of being able to host a YMCA before and after school care program next school year. Our ability to do so depends on the level of interest and ultimately the number of students that would enroll in the program.

If you would be interested in Howbert Elementary hosting a before and after school care through the YMCA, please complete the short form linked below.

PTO OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATER UPDATE

The amphitheater is nearly complete. We hope to be able to utilize it during the outdoor orchestra and band concert.

We are excited about the opportunity this will provide our students for outdoor learning.

Field Day Volunteers Needed

Howbert Field Day is Thursday, May 19th from 7:30-10:30 AM. The students need your help running events. Please sign up for a primary event (K-2) or an intermediate event(3-5). Lunch will be provided for all helpers.

PRESCHOOL REMINDER

There will be no a.m. and p.m. preschool on Thursday, May 5th so that the preschool team can attend a conference.

VARIETY SHOW DETAILS

Variety Show Dress Rehearsals are on Friday, May 6th from 2:30-4:00 p.m. All students that were contacted that they are part of the show are required to attend.

The Variety Show will be on Friday, May 13th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the gym. Families are invited to attend.

ART MIXER at Holmes

May 17, 2022 4-5:30 PM


Welcome to Holmes Middle School. We are hosting an art mixer for incoming 5th graders. Students will be painting a large Holmes’ mural that will be hanging in the 6th grade hallway. This will allow time for students to create great art and great friends before summer kicks off.


Cost: 5$ per student (paid at time of participation)

Covers snack and supplies.

Youth Mental Health - I Matter.

Dear Howbert Families,


The I Matter program, launched by the State of Colorado, provides access to mental health services for youth. The program is open to youth 18 years of age or younger or 21 years of age or younger if receiving special education services. At this time, they are offering up to SIX FREE sessions (some in-person sessions available).

Please join Howbert families for a Family Tech Talk. We will have an expert from Trend Micro’s Internet Safety for Kids & Families program host an engaging Zoom presentation and Q&A for parents. From social media to online gaming, parents with kids of all ages can learn best practices to help them be on the Internet in safe and healthy ways, including tips and exercises they can use.

This event is being provided by the Howbert PTO.

PTO MEETINGS

The Howbert PTO meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 4pm. We will be meeting in-person but will also have a virtual option for those that would prefer to attend on WebEx (click here to join).

We would love to see you at the meetings! It is a great way to share your thoughts, hear about happenings in the school and support the Howbert staff and students. And you don't have to commit to anything! Come to as many or as few meetings as works for you and your schedule.
