Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we have transitioned into Hybrid learning and continuing CDL. The teachers were very nervous about how to get all the tech working and we have learned a lot about audio settings in the last 2 weeks. The in-person students have been amazing with following all of the safety measures. The online students have done a great job learning the new schedules and asking questions about what they need to do. Our motto this year has been We are brave, not perfect. This latest transition is just another chance to live by that motto.

Reminders for In-person Students

  • Make sure your Chromebook is fully charged each day.
  • Communicate with your teacher about how you are going home.
  • Check your Google Classroom for your afternoon schedule, school doesn't end when you go home.
  • As long as you are healthy, we want you here at school as much as possible. If you wake up late, you can still come to school.

Here's the link to the latest HSD Return to School update. This update includes answers to some frequent questions, plans for the next school year, and updates for middle school and high school students.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help.

In partnership,

Jennifer Robbins

Bussing information for In-person Hybrid Instruction

K-6th grade routing “goes live” through the “mybus” app on the HSD website on Monday, March 15th. We will also be sending “mailers” to all Kinder and 1st grade families as we have in years past. Families should receive those mailers during the first part of spring break. The mailers to kinder families will include the yellow wrist bands for families to write their kinders route number and stop location on. This yellow wristband needs to be attached to the kinders wrist, or on their backpack.

If your student is a bus rider and is riding the bus to and/ or from a location that is not your home you MUST fill out this form. If you did a form last year it expires every year. These can be sent to Transportation as usual. They will be the last requests routed, after the exception/mind changer category is routed. If your request is denied, you will receive a letter from Transportation stating that. If your request can be accommodated, Transportation will call the you with the information they need.

Please complete the form included in this link. You can fax directly to transportation, or bring to the school. There will be a delay in routing.

What to Expect During Hybrid In-person Instruction

Please watch this video to see what to expect if you are returning to school for instruction this spring. There is a lot of information included in the video that will help with this transition.
