September 2019
Welcome Back Potter Family!
As always we have an open door policy. Please do not hesitate to contact me at acimino@btboe.org or via phone. Mrs. Gallagher will be returning from her maternity leave in early November. We look forward to seeing everyone at Back to School Night on September 11. Parents of students in grades 1-4 please join us for our brief presentation in the All Purpose Room prior to your classroom talk as this will allow you to find out what is new this year. Please check the schedule below to see the time for your child's teacher.
This year we have a new app connected to our district website. This will be replacing Remind at the school level, however classroom teachers may still have their own Remind for you to join. Please look for the Berkeley Township Schools app wherever you download apps on your device. We will be sending out notifications for spirit days and other events we have coming up throughout the year.
Please remember to connect with us on social media. You can follow the Berkeley Township School District on Facebook and @berkeleypotter on Twitter and Instagram. Include our hashtag #wearehmp to see what is taking place at Potter School.
We are looking forward to a wonderful 45th year at Potter School!
Thank you,
Andrea Cimino, Principal

*NEW* Student Drop Off/Walkers
We encourage all students to use our district transportation whenever possible. Due to parking restrictions we will no longer be able to allow student drop off in the front parking lot during arrival. All cars will be redirected to Deal Ave. When dropping off in the morning, please utilize the Deal Ave. Walkers Door. This is the best way to ensure a safe arrival for all of our students. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation.
If you plan on driving your child to the school each day, please make sure that you complete the transportation waiver and opt out of busing. Please know that parents who pick up their child every day at the school will be asked to pick up their child on Deal Avenue.
When picking up your child from Deal Avenue please stay to the right and pull as far forward as possible. Your child will be escorted out by a staff member. During the first week of school you will receive a placard to display in your car window with your child's name. Please make sure that whoever will be picking your child up has a placard to expedite the dismissal process. Please remain in your vehicle and refrain from parking in the back parking lot. We appreciate your cooperation!
Chalk the Walk
Parent Portal
The safety of all students at the H & M Potter School is a top priority. It is imperative that we have up to date emergency contact and medical information for all students. Please go to the parent portal and update information as soon as possible. This information must be updated yearly, and during the school year if any changes occur. Highlights of district policies will also be available here for your review. Parents please review these policies with your children so that they are aware of the school’s expectations and procedures.
If you have any questions please contact the Main Office.

Spirit Wear
Scarecrow Fundraiser
The H&M Potter School grounds will be decorated with scarecrows this fall! Join in the fun and watch the twinkle in your child’s eyes as they search the schoolyard to find the scarecrow with their family name! It is also a great way to advertise a local business!
Sponsor a scarecrow for $20!
Student Council
The H & M Potter School Student Council is proud to be entering its 8th year with Mrs. Melanson as its advisor. Each year the Potter School Student Council raises money for the school, makes important decisions such as what is served at lunch, and helps needy families by coordinating baskets at Thanksgiving and gathering presents for families in need for the winter holidays.
The student council meets each month and takes suggestions from the student body to bring change to the school. After each meeting they disseminate the information to the students so they know what is happening at the school. We cannot wait to see what they have planned for this year!
BTSD Summer Reading Challenge
