PLC WEEK 3
MASTERING THE ART OF PLC!
I've had several authors and educators that have help me to develop my foundation to what education should look like, but none more than Rick Dufour, most would call him the "Founding Father of PLC". He says that there are "Three Big Ideas That Drive the Work of a PLC The essence of the PLC process is captured in three big ideas: 1. The purpose of our school is to ensure all students learn at high levels. 2. Helping all students learn requires a collaborative and collective effort. 3. To assess our effectiveness in helping all students learn we must focus on results—evidence of student learning—and use results to inform and improve our professional practice and respond to students who need intervention or enrichment.”
Everything we do through PLC's at Hackberry will be tightly aligned around these questions. I need every team to evaluate what they are doing and ensure their PLC's are high functioning. I'm looking forward to mastering the process of PLC to guarantee students learn to high levels!
