What causes Shingles
Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus. The virus causes chickenpox's too. It's in our nervous system and 1 in 3 people get shingles.
What happens to the body because of the disease?
If you have ever had the chickenpox's the virus is still inside our body. Around our nervous system the virus stays. Later on when your older around 50 years old you could get sick and it could be the start of shingles. The body reacts to it and you would start off with a rash and then it becomes itchy. Then it starts to become a blister and oozes and crust over and you would have shingles and they hurt really bad.

Above shows a man with shingles and how it looks on our body. Shingles can be anywhere on our body. When I mean anywhere iI mean anywhere. But most common is on the side of our stomach, back, and head.
How is Shingles treated?
There is no cure for shingles. But there is treatments for it. Antiviral medicine that can reduce the pain of shingles.
