Who's your Character? By MADDIE and KAITLYN
We wanted to do this because we are really interested in this topic. We also met with a couple people about there character and what's happening in there story.
First we met with Addison. Addison is writing about her character Belle Miller. Belle is a smart and brave kind of character. She also likes reading and other things!
Next we met with Ethan who is a very talented editor.
Next came Luke! He's writing about his character named Timmy. Timmy is a dumb and funny character. He likes cold and leftover pizza and OTHER THINGS!!
When we were working on our character, we all had different ways of setting them up just like the roller coaster and the list/web people used PicCollage and Notability to draft there character. Then we met with Mrs. Jones to see how she felt about our writing she said " I love how people really thought about their story and the different genres they used!" She also said that she loves writing and it's one of her favorite things to teach. We hope you enjoyed our NewsLetter and thanks for reading.
Kindred
Kindred has been working on her beginning and setup. She has a good plot, a character, and a good story starter as she will explain in this video.

6th Grade Math
There has also been time devoted to math inquiry each Friday afternoon. Each person or pair has started with an inquiry idea to investigate. We have a few groups doing social experiments where they are investigating the effects of various methods of making math facts stick for younger students. We have people investigating general patterns of numbers in the world of math and figuring out how they work. We have groups doing probability experiments and making interactive games related for other people to test out. We even have a pair investigating Quantum Physics and the algorithm related to it. It is a popular time during math!

Grandparents' Day
Tuesday, we used some web tools- Padlet and Mentimeter to kick off our time together. Then we played a fun Kahoot about Grandparents, which was really fun and interactive. Some students even started reading a fairy tale to put through the Plot Rollercoaster with his or her guest. Click on the links below to see the cute pictures and the Mentimeter to see if you can guess which qualities and activities belong with your child. Thank you for sharing your children with us! We are truly thankful to be their teachers.
