From Principal Young
Greetings Jefferson Community!
Next week we are hosting Family Conferences with our teachers and other school staff. This is an opportunity for families to receive updates about their students' progress so far this school year. We hope you find it helpful and ask you to pay special attention to the conference schedule listed below.
Conferences are the perfect time to complete the application for Free & Reduced Meals for this school year. Although all meals are free for students, our school greatly benefits from most families completing the form. Please ask your teacher for a hard copy, swing by our office for a copy, or complete online at this link.
Have a great week,
From Our School

Quote of the Week:
"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect."
- Chief Seattle, Duwamish
We’re looking for ideas for our DEI Book Club - have a book that you’d like to read and discuss with fellow parents? Send us your picks!
The Bulletin Board subcommittee, led by Vera Oomens, has outdone itself with the design of November’s bulletin board, dedicated to Native American Heritage Month. If you stop by campus, please visit the bulletin board (located across from the lunch shelter). In addition to history timelines, hand talk, totem art, key Native figures (from politicians to artists), and more, you’ll see the integration of burlap, braid, fringe, and more - all to demonstrate how raw materials were used. Check it out!:
PTA Seeking Clay Volunteers
It’s time for another great year with our PTA sponsored Clay Program.
For anyone who is a first time parent WELCOME! WE NEED YOU.
For our seasoned school family… LET’S DO THIS!
CLAY IS A HUGE PROGRAM at our school it is completely run by volunteers -- we need you.
Any and all cleared volunteers are welcome to come. We are seeking year long help. There are several steps that will need extra hands along the way. If you want to help out specifically in your little ones class that information will come directly from their teacher and/or classroom parent.
Volunteer detail session will be disclosed at a later date in the Jabber.
Email Nada at the front office to become a cleared volunteer @ nadaKaedbey@burbankusd.org
