Homecoming and Prom Participation Guidelines

Dear Millard South Families,


As a follow-up to other communication that has been sent, we would also like to share our 22-23 Homecoming and Prom Dance Attendance guidelines Your student has already had this information shared with them. Please review the updated guidelines below:

In order to purchase tickets and attend Homecoming or Prom, a student must be in good standing at school. Good standing requirements for your student to attend these events include the following:

1. Passing a minimum of four classes
2. Attend 90% of school days
3. Fewer than 10 tardies to school / classes

Event Dates
Homecoming: Saturday October 8, 2022
Prom: Saturday April 15, 2023

If you have any questions regarding the Homecoming and Prom guidelines, please reach out to your student’s grade-level administrator.

AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) Testing

On Thursday, Oct 20th Millard South High School will be administering the AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) to our 10th-grade students and the Practice ACT to our 11th-grade students. Students should arrive at school to begin testing at 8:30 am. Testing will conclude at 10:30 am for our 10th-grade students and 11:45 am for our 11th-grade students. There will not be classes in the afternoon on Thursday, Oct 21st. All 9th & 12th-grade students DO NOT report to school on Thursday, Oct 20th.

ACT

Are you a junior and would like to see how you score on the ACT before the state testing day in March? Are you a senior and want to try to jump your score by a few extra points for potential college scholarship opportunities? Register for the October 22nd Saturday testing date by Friday, September 16th to avoid late registration fees. Go to myact.org to register!

If your student will need bus transportation for the 2022-23 school year AND you will qualify for free and reduced lunch, please complete this form as soon as possible. Please note, you must reside within the Millard South boundaries and re-qualify each year with Food Services as current year benefits will expire September 1st.

24/7 trained crisis counselors who can assist students, parents and community members with school safety related concerns. Information can be submitted anonymously. The information can be related to harmful, dangerous or violent activity(or even a threat of activity) that is directed at schools, students or staff members.

The Helpline is supervised by licensed mental health professionals and is a service of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services provided by Boys Town.


Methodist Hospital Emotional Support Hotline 402-815-8255 (TALK)

Available daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.


This service is a way for people to reach out and connect with someone who can help find solutions for managing stress, anxiety and other challenges. The support line is staffed by licensed professional counselors from the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program. The counselors can assist callers who may be experiencing feelings such as: fear, anxiety, sadness, depression.


Behavioral Telehealth Consultation Clinic

UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) is offering up to TWO FREE behavioral consultation sessions in English or Spanish. This service is available to families regardless of insurance coverage. To schedule an appointment call 402-559-6408 and state you are interested in scheduling with the free telehealth consultation clinic.
