Classroom Mosaic
Kimenya and I will continue observing in classrooms this year. We will provide feedback via Classroom Mosaic. Please remember feedback is not meant to be punitive. Feedback is formative and should be used to reflect and improve instruction and hence student achievement. We are a team and it takes everyone on the team to obtain the results that we want.
Professional Development
This is the link for professional development opportunities in our district during September and October. Dr. Holmes will be sending professional development opportunities out monthly.
Tuesday, September 19th - PDT during collaborative grade level time with Nijjall Bigger - Instructional Math Coach - Please report to the conference room 5 minutes after your planning time begins.
Data
Please update Fountas and Pinnell levels on your data charts by Friday, September 29th. Charts are in Canvas.
Mark Your Calendars
Progress reports will be sent home on Tuesday, September 19th. Please make sure that you are completing the progress report. I realize that students are recording assessment results in data notebooks etc. but students should not be writing on the progress reports.
Fall Pictures will be taken on Thursday, September 21st.
PTO Fund-raiser celebration and recognition will be done on Friday, September 22nd at 1:30 p.m

FYI
We are waiting to see if funding will be available to follow through on the plan for benchmark test in math. If district benchmark tests are not available this school year, we will continue to develop & analyze common formative/summative assessments. This will be a critical component within grade-level Collaborative Teams.

A special thank you to teachers in kindergarten, first, second, and third grades for sharing your flip charts, common formative assessments, and lesson plans etc. Your willingness to assist our behavior support program is a testament to your professionalism and commitment to our students and school! THANK YOU!

Brianna Barnette was interviewed by the Herald at the Back to School Rally. She explained why we do what we do. Thank you Brianna for representing Lesslie well! Barnette is a fourth-year teacher at Lesslie Elementary School. “You do this to give back to the students of Rock Hill.”
Connie Donovan gets the "Early Bird Award" for turning in her first Positive Referral before I requested them. Thank you Connie for setting the tone for a Positive school year. All staff members(this includes custodians, office staff, instructional assistants, teachers, administrators and cafeteria staff etc. should submit at least one Positive Referral to me by Friday, September 29th.
PTO Update
Thank you for supporting out PTO Coupon Boon Fund-Raiser. Our total raised as of September 15th was $9,460.00. Our PTO profit is $4,730.00 Connie Donovan's class was the top seller with 122 books sold and Michele Montgomery's class was the 2nd place winner with 39 books sold. Mrs. Donovan and Mrs. Montgomery will have duty free lunch for one week. Mrs. Donovan will also receive $100.00 and Mrs. Montgomery will receive $50.00. The top student seller was Cecily Thompson in Connie Donovan's class. Cecily will receive $100.00 and she will get to be Principal for a Day. The second place winner was Riley Adams in Karen Kilburn's class. Riley will receive $50.00.
