Visiting Author/Illustrator Book Order forms coming home today. Download the order form here.

All grades will receive an order form and may purchase an autographed copy of one of Chris Eliopoulos' books for their home library.

On Wed., Sept 19, Mr. Chris will present to K-3rd grade about I am Neil Armstrong; a biography from the Ordinary People Change the World series. Chris is the illustrator of all the books in this series.

It's a pretty great biography series, in Mrs. Barr's opinion. It's picture book format makes it accessible for young readers, but the speech bubbles include quite a bit of information and none of the books are short on inspirational messages.

Watch this video about the author, Brad Meltzer, and his inspiration for writing these books.

Chris is also the author and illustrator of two newly released graphic novels for 7-10 year olds.

Deep Wood will be selling copies of the following four titles (all available for autograph).

Parents and Guardians You and your students can take advantage of our Text Messaging Service:

Inclement weather, traffic and mechanical issues can cause buses to be delayed. Transportation can send a text message straight to your mobile phone if your child’s school bus is delayed either to or from school.

Parents and students who would like to receive late bus texts can “opt-in” to the notification system by texting “YES” to short code 67587. You should receive an opt-in confirmation message from the service. If you do not get a verification message, check with your campus registrar to make sure your cell phone number is listed as your student’s best contact number.

You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop.” Opting out of late bus text notifications will also discontinue text notifications for inclement weather or any other emergency communications.

Bus information text notifications are sent to cell phones. To update cell phone number(s) call or email your campus Registrar. It may take 24 hours for the updated number to be active after being changed or added to the District’s system. The District is not responsible for carrier charges. Dispatchers are instructed to prioritize safety issues. Therefore the District cannot guarantee the reliability of a text notification.

For more frequently asked questions about this service, please visit the Round Rock ISD Transportation page.

SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.
