Important Information on Vaping
Our wolves health is very important to all of us. Vaping both tobacco and marijuana products among youth is on the rise nationwide. Here is some information from the CDC regarding this https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/p0930-e-cigarette.html . Please take time to talk with your kids about alcohol tobacco and drug use. This is an ongoing conversation and lessons that we need your partnership with. Here is a resource to help with the conversationSGR_ECig_ParentTipSheet_508.pdf
If you need additional resources or notice that you think your student is using substances here are some resources to get help:
High School Robotics Competition
The TAF@Saghlie robotics club had our first competition this Saturday.
In the days before the competition, our team gathered everyday after school to design and build and arm and claw that would work to pick up a series of cones. They utilized the makerspace well to 3d print many of the pieces that would end up on the robot.
In between matches at the competition they spend most of the reassembling pieces that broke or refining their original design. During this time our motto was “Don’t give in to the panic” and they never did.
While this competition might not have turned out in the way that they hoped, they learned a lot and kept a good attitude.
The next competition date is on December 3rd, and we’ll be ready.
TAF@Saghalie Garden Project
Our Garden planning team is very excited to announce that we are in the final steps of proposal and will be getting our garden project approved here at Taf@Saghalie soon. We have so many creative ways that we plan on implementing the garden with curriculum as well as after school learning opportunities. You can see some of the great opportunities for learning already happening with school gardens in Federal Way Public Schools latest garden newsletter here FWPS Gardens- Fall 2022 Newsletter.pdf. We are looking forward to getting to learn in the garden with our wolves here at Taf@Saghalie.
