Design A BreakoutEDU
I4
Earning the Square
There is a prerequisite for this square. You must have facilitated at least one BreakoutEDU game before attempting to design one. Participating is not enough. BreakoutEDU games are complex and require a fair amount of critical thinking just to lead one with your students let alone design one! Your chances of creating a successful game will increase greatly with the experience of having facilitated one to truly understand how they work. If you have not yet done so, please earn the BreakoutEDU square first.
Use the link below to access the BreakoutEDU Game Design page. It contains lots of great resources, templates, and guidelines for putting together your own game. Make sure your game is directly related to your curricular lessons and includes plenty of opportunity for critical thinking!
Although encouraged, you do not have to submit your game to the official site. You also do not have to invite Rachel to come see your students play your game, but this is strongly encouraged as well (just because she loves it.)
Claim The Square
Describe your game and the critical thinking involved. Submit pictures of students playing.
