My career goal is to visit many places and make new memories. It's also to enjoy my job and make new friends.
Career Overview
Flight Attendants need to make sure that passengers on the plane are safe. They need to serve snacks to people on the plane and talk to the passengers on the plane. They also need to show people how to buckle up and what to do in case of an emergency. The plane may be noisy or quiet depending on the people on the airplane. Most airlines have general weight and height requirements. For an example if you are 5'5 in height then you are not expected to weigh much more than 127 pounds for females and 146 pounds for males.
Careers Skills & interests
The skills you need is being able to talk to people. You also need to work with passengers and help them. A well-groomed and a presentable appearance. Staying calm in a crisis. Being friendly and polite to other people. Looking for ways to help other people on the airplane. They need to be able to tell people where they are at when someone asks on the airplane and what time they will be reaching their destination. They also need to know what the weather will be at their destination.
Career working conditions
Flight attendants may work the holidays, nights, and weekends. Flight attendants must be flexible and reliable of the other people on the airplane. They are away from home one third of the time. During their job the airlines provide hotel accomodations and an allowance for meal expenses.
Careerer Wages and outlook
The salary is between $22,000 and $87,000. The BLS predicted that between 2012 and 2022, employment of flight attendants would experience a seven percent decline. Competition for flight attendant jobs are intense. For an example Delta, recently received over 40,000 applications for 1,500 flight attendant openings. Opportunities would be best for those seeking employment with expanding charter and commuter airlines.
