End of Semester and Looking Ahead
WVS Parents and Guardians - December 2020
What to Expect
Where to see a WVS Course End Date
All course end dates default out 20 weeks (includes weekends) from the start date (except the WVS Student Orientation course) unless the local district selects a different end date. Per WVS policy, the maximum amount of time allowed for a one-semester course is 5 months.
The start and end date of a student’s course determine the Pace Chart for suggested due dates. If a course end date does need to be changed, that will be done by the coach at the local school. In the example, the start date of MS World History S1 is September 1, 2020, and the end date is January 15, 2021. You can also see the days left in the course (59d left) and the minutes spent in the course (50 min).
Students access to their courses ENDS at 10 pm C.S.T on the last day of their enrollment period.
Completion of Course
WVS teachers do strive to grade submitted assignments within 72 hours of submission date with the exception of students who submit more than 1 assignment in a 24-hour period. This is important for students to remember when submitting many assignments close to the end date of their course. Teachers may need extended time to grade all assignments which could result in a delay in the final grade report being submitted.
