Time is everything. Over time, congress created Yosemite National Park in 1890, but it did not include Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa Grove and they were added to the park in 1906. In 1864, after Congress gave Yosemite Valley to California for use as a public park and recreation area, that’s what sparked the idea to create it into a national park. The park is 747,956 acres. Nearly 95 percent of which are designated Wilderness, and is home to hundreds of wildlife species and over a thousand plant species.
The Yosemite Legened
Once upon a time in a land named Yosemite Valley lived a leprechaun named Leonardo. He was 10 decades old (leprechauns go by decades), but one day Leonardo came across a griffin and said, “Don’t hurt me.” And the griffin talked and said, “I won’t hurt you I want to be friends with you.” So the griffin and Leonardo became friends. Leonardo named the griffin George. So George and Leonardo went to a party and Leonardo talked to this girl and they became friends. So after the party George couldn’t find Leo (Leonardo) anywhere. So he went looking and found him and overheard him talking to his friends Leo said, “That griffin is perfect to get that girl to like me more.” So George flew away and never came back.
