Fractions, Decimals, and Percents...OH MY!
My classes having been working hard for the last few weeks. We have been reviewing some 6th & 7th grade math skills, getting organized, and learning how to convert fractions, decimals, and percents so that we can compare them.
Our next objective to tackle will be looking at decimals and the difference between rational and irrational numbers. In a few days, ask your student about pi (π) and why it is irrational!
LATE HOMEWORK POLICY
1.Each day late = 10 pts.
2. No late work accepted after 5th day = Grade 0
3. No late work accepted on assignments that are given multiple days to complete, such as: Problem of the Week, Test Corrections, and Projects
AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORIALS
After-school tutorials will begin soon! The students that struggle with a particular objective will get an invitation to come to after-school tutorials to help bring up the grade the student made on an exam.
DOJO POINTS...HIGH HONORS
As you saw in the last newsletter, we are using a points award system in class for students that are organized, helpful, on task, etc.
The two students with the highest points are:
7th Grade: Justin Massey
8th Grade: Chloe Neyland
