Launch of SABE newsletter!

Amig@s de SABE and Supporters of Bilingual Education,

Cal Poly School of Education's SABE (Spanish Authorization for Bilingual Educators) program is excited to launch a new quarterly newsletter as a means of sharing information and resources on how to support bilingual education in our schools and community.

The SABE program prepares both in-service and pre-service teachers to become bilingual K-12 educators. We are now on Facebook. Dános un "me gusta" and share with friends!

SABE Program Updates

New Cohort

This fall, the SABE program welcomes its third cohort of bilingual education candidates. We have candidates in prerequisite courses as well in the first quarter of their credential programs.

Bilingual education candidates in their first quarter of student teaching are placed in schools across both San Luis Obispo & Santa Barbara counties. Les presentamos a:

Bilingual Education Resources

Proposition 58 on November Election Ballot!

This November, California voters have an exciting opportunity to vote on a proposition to increase student access to bilingual education programs. The California Teacher Association has created a voter guide for informing parents, friends and colleagues.

Newcomers Toolkit

The US Department of Education released a toolkit to help teachers and administrators who are working with newcomer immigrant students.

My Name, My Identity Campaign

Join the national campaign to raise awareness on the importance of pronouncing students' names correctly and honoring their identity. Learn more and sign the pledge.
