The show, sponsored by Robert Abbott and the Chicago Defender, billed Bessie as "the world's greatest woman flyer."

Bessie coleman being a native of Chicago Illinois, wanted more out of life. She heard and got into aviators.

After learning how to fly. She became as the first woman to receive a pilot’s license.


As she learned she held shows in which she demonstrated her talent.


She is known for her daring stunts, which were more entertaining and more daring than of the men at the time.


She continued to held shows, but started a school of flight for blacks.


She died on January 26, 1892. She was killed when her plane nose dived and fell to her death.
