Ender struggles with society many times during this book. One time is when Stilson and his buddies bully Ender about being a Third. Major Graff intentionally gets the kids in Battle School to not like Ender, and the kids try and make Battle School a bad experience.

Ender and the rest of humanity need to settle into the abandoned bugger colonies. They are not used to the environment of the bugger colonies, but try to adapt to the environment and survive.
