Nominations for PA board open - Candidates neededIf you are interested in being on the PA board next year. Elections will be held on May 31st at our Spring Concert.

Health & Wellness Meeting Wednesday May 16

Join us for the next Health & Wellness Meeting on May 16. We will gather at 8:30 in the Mt Sinai Cafeteria (on Madison Ave, between 101 and 102 Street). We will discuss Spring Fair feedback, Partnership for a Health Generation Award and Sports Days. We hope to see you there.

Upper Grade Sports Day at Randall's Island - Thursday, May 17th

Students in Grade 4 - 8 will have a Sports Day at Randall's Island this Thursday, weather permitting. We will be on Hells Gate Field 60 & 61


We could use help taking equipment to Randall's Island, setting up and support for activities. We could also use donations of gallons of water, fruit, and some other supplies. Please complete form below.


Students should bring a water/bottle, a bag lunch, hat, sunscreen, a blanket or towel to sit on. Students are welcome to bring their own equipment as well. PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING.

Musical Introduction Series Trip for K, 1, 2 & 3 This Week

CPE II Teacher Wins Empire State Excellence in Teaching Award

William Fong, AKA Billy, was selected by Governor Cuomo to receive the Empire State Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes educational leaders (PreK-12) who exemplify the professional work of thousands of outstanding, progressive teachers and innovative educators striving to attain New York standards and success for all of their students. Winners are recognized and rewarded with a $5,000 stipend for their continued learning and professional endeavors. Karim Camara, who serves as Deputy Commissioner of Faith-Based Community Development Services, presented the award on Friday. Billy's family, as well as the students in the class, participated in the surprise ceremony for the award.

$2,917 STILL NEEDED by May 29th

Every year our 2nd graders learn about the birds of NYC in our "For the Birds" project in collaboration with the Audubon Society. Every child that passes through the 2nd grade at CPE II has become a bird expert through this project. $2,917 is still needed by May 29th

Spring Concert, Thursday May 31st. 6PM

The concert will include:

  • 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grade Violinists
  • 4th grade Chorus
  • Middle School Dance Team
  • Middle School Tappers (Tap Dance)

5th grade moving up ceremony and celebration

Moving-Up Ceremony: Thursday, June 21, 2018 at noon in our school auditorium. 5th grade students should get to school at 11am dressed and fed for graduation. The program will take about an hour.


Celebration: Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 5:30 - 7:30 (at the latest) in our school cafeteria.
This is a celebration for 5th graders only. This is not a prom. No parents, no "dates" and no need to dress up. Parents should drop off and pick up or let us know that there child can leave alone. Some parents may want to go to a café together during this time.
