DECEMBER 24-JANUARY 4 NO SCHOOL-WINTER BREAK
Hello RHK8 Families,
After the Thanksgiving break, it was so good to return to a full week of school. One highlight of our week was the Options Open House on Wednesday evening. Common themes from the panel of about 20 students were the strong academics, the close community, the leadership opportunities, technology based learning, working with younger students, and the mutual respect they share for each other. Our parent and teacher panels shared similar themes as they talked of their experiences here and what makes Raleigh Hills special and unique. Here's the news for this week.

Library News
Thank you families for supporting the book fair. We earned $2,800 in credits with Scholastic to buy books for the library. This is a large portion of the funds we spend in the library. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped run the book fair. We couldn't do it without your help. The kids love book fair. We have the kids help us shop for the library, we purchase books for the library and classrooms from wish lists created by students and teachers.

Winter Warm Up
Help us kick off the season of giving with our Winter Warm Up and Activity Drive!
It’s that time of year when we come together as a community to support families in need! We will have several opportunities to give this season, starting with our Winter Warm Up and Activity Drive!
From Nov. 26-Dec. 7, we will be collecting new socks, hats, gloves, blankets, board games and activity kits to help families stay warm and have some fun together during the cold winter months. Donations can be dropped off in your child’s grade level box on the stage in the cafeteria. The grade level with the most donations at the end of the drive will earn a hot cocoa and donut party!
If you have questions about the drive or other giving opportunities, please contact

Bottle Drive
Thank you to everyone for all your support. Let's keep up the good work.
SaedisCoin Drive Fundraiser for our Track
Our classrooms are doing a Fall fundraiser for the track and we need your help. Each classroom has a mason jar that students can fill with spare change. It doesn't matter if its pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, or even dollars, we simply appreciate your generosity. Also, whichever grade level collects the most change up until December 21st, they will get to have an ice cream party sometime in January.
Enjoy your weekend!
