Principal's Message
As the leaves begin to turn their signature fall colors, I am reminded of all of our students and the different experiences, backgrounds, perspectives, and goals they bring to the table. For the new educator, the variety of differences can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to reaching the needs of all students in the classroom. However, the staff at Central is, bar none, capable of turning that beautiful tree of fall leaves and bringing them all to academic success. We have several events coming up in October that will be both fun and challenging! I'm looking forward to seeing you here at school when there are events open to all in the community. Next week is the Week of Respect! Please have your children participate fully in our activities!

Lunch Information and Free or Reduced Lunch 🥪
It is important to read the information about our new menu and payment system on the district website under Food Services. My School Menus will provide parents with the meal of the day, nutritional, and allergen information. PaySchools Central enables parents to fund lunch accounts online quickly and easily eliminating the worry of lost or forgotten lunch money. Parents can also conveniently apply for Free/Reduced benefits online.
As of the publishing of this newsletter, the federal government has not renewed the "National School Lunch Program" which offered free lunch to all students regardless of income. In order to continue receiving free or reduced lunch, for those families who qualify, you will need to fill out a free and reduced lunch form for the 2022-2023 school year. These forms are electronic and can be found through the link below.
Research ⚗️
Planning for a writing task in school can be jarring. There is nothing better than building the skills we reinforce in school at home. In just three steps, that will feel as natural as any conversation with your child, you can instill the same sort of planning, organization, and sharing of personal stories, that can be written! These skills mesh perfectly with our writing methods and truly speak to student centered academic development. Click the picture to the write to learn more.

Teacher Highlight👨🏫👩🏫
Meet Mr. McLaughlin 😀
Mr. McLaughlin is our new music teacher. It is his 4th year teaching. His favorite part about teaching is being creative and planning sing-a-longs with the guitar and piano. His childhood superhero was Jim Carey. His hidden talent is that he can play 3 instruments at the same time: the guitar with his hands, the harmonica with his lips, and the drums with his feet. Wow! He wants all his students to know how important and powerful music is and that it is a universal language, meaning, two people who speak two completely different languages can speak the same language of music!
