Are you helpful? Responsible? Kind? Empathetic? Like sport and fitness opportunities?
Apply to be a part of our Partner PE program next year! Partner PE can be a semester-long or year-long (dependent on your PE credit needs) success-oriented physical education program featuring supervised peer tutors partnered with special needs student athletes. The purpose of the program is to encourage physical activity, increase knowledge of health and fitness strategies, and to assist in the acquisition of individual lifetime recreation activities and/or skills associated with team sports.
You are applying to become a Peer Guide. What is a Peer Guide? A peer guide is a fellow classmate who is paired with a special needs student in the Physical Education class. A peer guide should build a relationship with their partner athlete, guide them through exercises and activity, model activities, demonstrate leadership and positive behavior, encourage and provide feedback, and above all share in the joy of physical activity with their partner athlete.
