Healthy Parks Healthy People Series

First Saturday of the Month, 2-4pm

February 2017 through October 2017

Meets in front of the Presidio Visitor Center


Is getting fit difficult because you could use some motivation and change of scenery? Your National Parks can help! Join the Healthy Parks Healthy People Rangers and leaders each month as we work our way to fitness by exploring our various park sites, hiking and playing family games to get those hearts and waistlines happy. All ages and fitness levels welcome.


Program Series includes the following programs which will alternate each month:
Hiking for Heartbeats, Family Fun Fitness, Ecotherapy, and Family Boot Camp.

FEBRUARY - Hiking for Heartbeats

Saturday, Feb. 4th 2017 at 2-4pm

Come celebrate the National Park's Centennial with the Healthy Parks Healthy People Rangers we work our way to fitness and a healthier lifestyle. Enjoy a hike, beginner exercises and family games while getting those hearts and waistlines happy.


Wear comfortable exercise clothing you can move in and don’t mind getting dirty. Don’t forget your water bottles. We will be meeting at the Main Post Parade Ground in front of the Presidio Visitor Center on 36 Lincoln Blvd. All ages and fitness levels welcome.

MARCH - Healthy Parks Healthy People Ecotherapy

Saturday, March 4th 2017 at 2-4pm

Help your park be a Healthy Park with Ecotherapy! Enjoy a walk to the Presidio Nursery to learn about your park's healing native plants and help do your part with a short service project before ending with a healthy snack and fun music to end your outdoor healing.


Wear comfortable exercise clothing you can move in and don’t mind getting dirty. Don’t forget your water bottles. We will be meeting at the Main Post Parade Ground in front of the Presidio Visitor Center on 36 Lincoln Blvd. All ages and fitness levels welcome.

APRIL- Family Fun Fitness

Fitness doesn't have to be boring. Join the HPHP family to learn how we can work out our bodies while playing fun games and exploring the Golden Gate National Parks.

MAY - Family Boot Camp

Get ready for a fun and challenging Family Boot Camp at the historic Presidio’s Main Post. Learn basic soldier drills and about Presidio Military life while getting fit.

Healthy Parks Healthy People Bay Area is a regional collaborative of parks, health care providers and other organizations with a mission to "improve the health and well-being of all Bay Area residents, especially those with high health needs, through regular use and enjoyment of parks."

Please join us at Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) as we participate in the Healthy Parks, Healthy People Bay Area initiative to connect people with parks in the name of a healthy lifestyle.
