OVLC 2021-2022: Important Registration Information
Dear OVLC Families,
We are excited to continue to offer the Oconomowoc Virtual Learning Community (OVLC) as an option for OASD students entering grades 2-4 during the 2021-2022 school year. To prepare class sizes and staffing for the next school year, we are asking current 1st-3rd grade OVLC families to commit to either OVLC or in-person learning for next year. Families selecting the OVLC for the 2021-2022 school year should do so because remote learning is the preferred method of learning for their child.
Detailed below are the next steps and deadlines for selecting OVLC for your child next year. The 2021-22 OVLC Program Planning Guide for grades 2-4 is available by clicking this link.
OVLC FOR GRADES 2-4
- Below, you will find communication with a link to the 2021-22 OVLC commitment form.
- PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FORM BY May 24, 2021.
- You will have the option to confirm your child is returning to in-person learning next year, commit to the OVLC, or indicate that you’re unsure at this time.
- This form will be your formal commitment to either OVLC or in-person learning for the full 2021-22 school year.
- Students will not have the opportunity to move between OVLC and in-person learning during the 2021-22 school year.
- Families who are unsure at this time will be included in their elementary school’s in-person roster. There may be an option to choose OVLC in August if space is available but we cannot guarantee space in the OVLC after the May 24 deadline.
- Families who do not complete the commitment form by May 24 will be included in their elementary school’s in-person roster.
OVLC FOR GRADES 4K-1
The OASD will not offer the OVLC for children entering 4K in the 2021-22 school year.
At this time, we do not plan to offer OVLC for children entering 5K-grade 1 next school year either. The decision to eliminate 4K-grade 1 as an option for remote learning is based on the challenge to replicate high-quality instruction in foundational literacy and mathematics virtually.
If you have questions or concerns about your student returning to in-person school for 5K-grade 1, please email us at OVLC@oasd.org.
OVLC FOR GRADES 5-12
OVLC will be available for students entering grades 5-12 in the 2021-22 school year and families had the opportunity to make that selection in January.
COVID-19 MITIGATION MEASURES DURING THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR
An initial list of COVID-19 safety and mitigation measures was approved by the OASD School Board on May 4, 2021. Please be aware that mitigation measures may be added or adjusted prior to or during the course of the 2021-22 school year based on county and state guidelines.

If you have questions about the OVLC, please email us at OVLC@oasd.org. This information can also be found at www.oasd.org/OVLC.
Thank you for your support of the OASD.
Sincerely,
The Oconomowoc Virtual Learning Community Leadership Team
