Dear Families,
We appreciate your attendance at conferences last week! Spring Conferences are a wonderful time to review & revise the learning goals based on the progress made during the year. We are all incredibly proud of all of our students! If you were unable to attend last week, please contact your child's teacher to reschedule.

District Title I Meeting ~ Zoom
February 28, 2022
Families,
I would like to formally invite you to our annual Title I meeting at Grand Forks Public Schools.
This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, March 9th from either 12-1 p.m. or 6:30-7:30 p.m. Meeting link: https://mygfschools.zoom.us/j/82378265030.
Being a Title I school means we receive federal funding to supplement the school's existing programs. At this meeting, I will present information about our parental involvement policies, ongoing review of the school-parent compact, the rights of parents to be involved in our programs, and the methods for being involved.
Thank you,
Brenda Lewis, Ph.D.
Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education
ParentsLEAD
Talking openly and honestly with your kids is one of the most effective ways to support their
behavioral health. Whether it’s everyday topics like friends and school, or more serious topics like substance use, anxiety, or depression, it’s never too early to start the conversation. As your kids grow, your conversations may change, but they will always be centered on keeping them happy, healthy, and safe. Keep your conversations relaxed, friendly, non-judgmental, and genuine. And most importantly, be a good listener.

Free/Reduced Meal Information
GFPS Families,
We are grateful to those families who have completed the free and reduced-price lunch application this school year. The importance of this application cannot be overlooked; it is more than just a meal application. It:
Provides additional funding for state and federal programs and services at your school.
Results in free or discounted fees for many students to participate in and attend school activities.
Provides discounted fees for applicable students on academic tests like the SAT, ACT, and AP courses. It may also qualify students for discounted rates associated with college applications.
Your application helps in many areas. Just one completed form ensures continued funding to support students in our school system.
If your household income is below the numbers in the chart below, please https://www.schoolcafe.com/GRANDFORKS1 and complete the application as soon as possible. For additional information on free and reduced-price meals, please visit https://www.gfschools.org/Page/8333.
Appreciatively,
Superintendent Dr. Terry Brenner
