A Message from the Principal
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
Last week we had the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops – Education (TCCBED) accreditation team visited our campus from Sunday afternoon, February 27 through Wednesday, March 2. The visit was a success! The chair of the visiting team recognized our strong Catholic identity and warm community spirit in her parting comments to the faculty and staff on Wednesday afternoon. It was noted that our students are joyful when learning and are kind to each other, and that our teachers are creative and caring educators. She also said that we have something incredibly special here at Holy Family Catholic School and we that should continue to work on preserving the wonderful strong relationships that we have built with our parents, students, teachers, and parish.
We received many other commendations from the accreditation team, and of course, a few recommendations for improvement. One area of improvement was noted regarding carline safety. On two mornings the team observed students walking from the parking lot, and between cars in the car line, which is not in compliance with our handbook. Please remember to use the carline and drop your children off at school from your car, not from the parking lot.
I am in the process of posting new job openings for the 2022-2023 academic year, and am changing the schedule for the fourth quarter due to staffing changes. Mrs. Jodi Price is not returning next year to devote more time to her family and Mrs. Michele Hankins is retiring at the end of this year. Ms. Bernal’s last day here at HFCS will be this Friday, we wish her well in her new endeavors. Ms. Hiett will be teaching additional art classes to the 4th through 8th grades in lieu of band during fourth quarter. Soon the Diocese will be posting these open HFCS positions for next year on its website: MS Math, Band, MS Spanish, Technology, and Kindergarten Aide.
We have a noon dismissal this Friday, after school care will not be offered.
I hope that you all have a fun and safe spring break next week!
Thank you and God bless,
Ann Walters
Principal
