NHS Mentorship Letter
Dear Parents and Students new to ACMA this year,
The National Honor Society is an honors club for students in 10th through 12th grade who have; a GPA of 3.5 and above, value community service work, show good character and want to develop more leadership skills while here at ACMA. We have helped with information nights, recruiting new students, many school events, organized community service projects, helped with blood drives and run Art Days for several elementary schools in our district.
This year we are working to find new ways to help our ACMA community as well as our community at large. This letter is about one of those new ideas we had for helping out ACMA. Students new to ACMA are a great asset to our community and we look forward every year to welcoming them into our family. This year that connection is much harder to make so we have a way NHS can help. We will be setting up mentorships pods between NHS students and the new students who would like that type of relationship. The ideas is that each NHS student would be given the names of a few new students that they can email once a week or so to check in with them to see how they are doing and to answer questions they may have. As this new program progresses, we hope to find other ways for these pods of students to connect using Zoom get togethers.
This letter is to let you know what this new program is and to tell you how to sign up for it if you want to join the mentorship family. If you are interested in joining please CLICK HERE. We would like to have everyone signed up by January 4th so we can start setting up the mentorship pods. If you have any questions you can email the advisor of NHS beth_deal@beaverton.k12.or.us.
We look forward to connecting with our new ACMA family members.

Senior Deadline for Group Graduation Orders is Fri Dec 11th
I have reached out to our graduation supplier Jostens and requested of them one final extension of the “group order” deadline. To be clear, you may place your order later in the year, but the advantages of doing so with-the-group are:
- You received the lowest prices of the year.
- You will receive the earliest possible delivery of your order.
- And most importantly, you will help reduce the possibility of delays due to the pandemic.
Jostens is extending the deadline for group orders to Friday, December 11th. There are 2 ways to place your order:
- You can go to the Jostens website – the direct ACMA link is:
https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/customer/1016961/Arts-and-Communication-Magnet-Academy/
- You can call toll-free to 1-800-JOSTENS (567-8367) *
* If you wish to place your order without a payment, use this option.

Senior Yearbook Submission Guidelines - Form Below
ACMA Yearbook staff welcomes Senior submissions for the ‘20-‘21yearbook. You (or your photographer) should plan to submit one digital copy of your senior photo, baby photo, and your quote by Sunday, February 28, 2021. This is a firm deadline determined by printing dates; failure to meet deadlines risks hundreds of dollars in late fees for our program. For this reason, seniors who’ve not submitted requested items by the due date will not have such items included in the yearbook.Seniors with out a senior photo submission will have their Dorian photo featured in the Yearbook if one is on file.

During this uncertain time, parents and caregivers are struggling to balance work, childcare and self-care while keeping worries — both your children’s and your own — under control.
