- Plan: Make a storyboard for your stop motion scene - You can use this template!
- Design Your Story: Where does your creature enter? (left side of frame/right side of frame?) Where are they going? (hunting, searching, hiding) What happens? (Catch their meal/Eat there meal/get scared and run away)
- Setting Up Your Camera: Go to the magnifying glass on the upper right hand corner of your mac, click it and type "Photo Booth" (Hit Enter) Make sure you are on the camera setting and you can see the green light of your camera on. Adjust your camera to point straight ahead.
- Set Up Your Set: Choose a backdrop and secure the back with tape it so it won't move. Make sure your backdrop fills your frame and that your scene has enough light. Add any elements in the foreground to fill your scene. Secure the ground of your scene as well with tape.
- 24 Pictures for each second To make a smooth moving character, move their arms, eyes, body, etc, a small amount then take a photo. Move them a small amount more, and do the same. You will be taking about 24 photos for every 1 second of your film. Watch this movie here to see the difference 12 vs 24 frames per second makes
- Refer to your storyboard, take your time, make sure to keep out of the light of your scene so you don't cast any shadows in your scene!
