Camp Learn A Lot

May 15, 2016

Dear Parents,

This week we finished our novel rough drafts, thought about how nature inspires engineers in Project Lead the Way, discovered patterns in multiplication, gave our personal best on NWEA Reading, watched the movie version of the folktale Chicken Little, and met our 5 chicks!

The Maypole Celebration is Friday, May 20th from 2:00pm to 3:15pm. Parents are invited to attend this annual Hazel Dell tradition. Our class will practice the dance steps on Wednesday after which 6 students will be selected from our class to be the official Maypole dancers for this school year. If your child is selected as a dancer or alternate, I will email you later in the week.

As we wind down the school year, I am phasing out our word study rotations. Logophiles 2 has completed their final progress check and will not have word sorts for the remainder of the school year. Logophiles 3 will complete their final progress check on Monday 05/16. Logophiles 1 will complete their final progress check on Wednesday 05/18.

Please see the important dates section below for all the fun scheduled these last 12 days of school.

As always,

Kelly Burton
