Recognizing Positive Behavior - The Power of Attention means "What we focus on we get more of"

Cadott Elementary Staff recognizes the importance to applaud students when they display positive character traits. This week we would like to recognize:

Delton - Mrs. Mackie recognized Delton for positive behavior. During lunch recess, Delton put his arm around a sad classmate who had felt left out and was crying. He listened to his classmate and comforted him.

Andy - Mrs. Alexander recognized Andy for positive behavior. Andy has shown a tremendous amount of kindness in class, and understands how to be empathetic towards others.

Awesome job choosing kind behavior and going above and beyond.

- Mrs. Goettl and Mr. Spaeth

Positive Character Traits we are looking for are:

  • Self Awareness
  • Self Management
  • Social Awareness
  • Relationship Skills
  • Goal Directed Behavior
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Decision Making
  • Optimistic Thinking

These traits are learned and nurtured through our adult modeling, direct instruction, and feedback.

Attendance Line

Please remember that you must call the attendance hotline by 9:00 am each day your child is absent from school or if they will be leaving early (If you have not sent your child with a note). This allows office staff to keep up-to-date records of students’ absences on a daily basis. The hotline is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

The Attendance Hotline can be reached at 715-289-3795 Then dial 1 for Attendance and then 2 for Elementary Attendance. If at all possible, please use the attendance hotline when reporting an absence.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Hornet Health Tip: Head Lice

Head lice are not a sign of uncleanliness nor do head lice transmit diseases.

Head lice pass from person to person by direct head-to-head contact or less commonly by sharing hats, brushes, scarves, combs, etc. that have been used by a person with head lice.

If someone in your family is found to have head lice or nits, everyone in the family and close contacts should be checked for signs of head lice. A special medicated shampoo or hair rinse must be used to kill head lice. Follow the directions carefully for the medicated shampoo or hair rinse. Regular shampoo will NOT kill head lice.

Clothing, bed linens, pillows, stuffed toys, etc. used by anyone with head lice must be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer. Items that can’t be washed can be sealed in a plastic bag for 14 days or longer, dry cleaned, or dried in a hot dryer for 30 minutes. Car upholstery, carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture and mattresses must be vacuumed.

If you have any questions about head lice, please contact Jessica Hager, School Nurse, (715) 289-3795, extension 1503 or by email hagerj@cadott.k12.wi.us
