On July 30, 1992, Phil Jackson received the North Dakota Rough for his help with people around the world and donating money to charity and he was also greatly known for 13 NBA Championship titles. Phil Jackson is widely appreciated around the country and around the state of North Dakota.
He is a Hall of Fame coach leading the Bulls to 6 NBA Titles and the Lakers to 3 straight NBA titles!
He also has the highest win percentage as a coach with .703! He is also the only coach to win multiple titles on different teams. He is the greatest NBA coach of all-time!
He was a student of UND!
He also grew up in Williston, ND!
He was born in Deer Lodge, Montana and he moved to Williston when he was 13. When at college he majored in Religion, Philosophy and psychology! When Phil played in High School he played for Williston High School.

Phil Jackson coached 2 of the greatest NBA players ever! Kobe Bryant was one of the men. Kobe and Phil had a great player-coach relationship with Kobe. Phil coached the greatest NBA trio ever, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and last but not least, Michael Jordan! Those 4 men brought Phil championships. 6 titles with the Bulls, 5 with the Lakers including 3 consecutive rings.

Phil Jackson childhood.
Phil Jackson was born in Montana, but went to school in North Dakota. When he was a child his parents were strict religious people. Sports were the only thing keeping him away from religious events. He was a great high school and college player earning 27.4 points per game. He was drafted by the team he is now the president of, the New York Knicks in the 2nd round of the 1967 draft
