Information and Reminders
Please disregard the Feb. 7th date. It was a typing mistake. The day out of school is Feb. 17th. I only typed the 7. Sorry for the confusion.
- The 100th day of school will be Jan. 28. We will be doing special math activities in class.
- Thank you to everyone who sent in money for Pennies for Patients. The school raised a lot of money for a great cause.

Reading
Weekly Story : Tomas Rivera

There will be a spelling and sight word test on Friday this week.

Math
We will continue practicing addition and subtraction to 10 to build speed and accuracy with math facts. The students will be given a sheet of 30 problems and timed for 2 minutes to increase speed .The class will also begin learning how to read information from charts and graphs.
Science/Social Studies
We are continuing a combined social studies and science unit on earth materials (rocks, dirt, soil) , what they are made of, and how we use them. The students will also be learning about democracy, voting, and laws in America.
Homework
Mon.- practice sheet; spelling words
Tues. - spelling words
Thurs. - No homework on Thursday due to the variety show
Fri. - Reading response journals are due
