What's Happening in PBS?
Week of 1/25-1/29
Welcome to another week of PBS. Here is what we are up to this week. Monday in class the kids will get to work on the assignment we started last week where they are determining the amino acid sequence from the DNA sequence. They start to get into mutations and the different kinds of mutations that can occur. On Tuesday, we will continue our discussion of mutations and how they effect the overall protein structure. We will be playing with some interactives to reiterate these points. Wednesday the kids will be working on an overall recap of the central dogma. This will be through a quiz on the LMS that they can take as many times as they want to get a high score. It is just an assignment grade, but it's good practice for their next test. Thursday we move into more examples of mutations and how the sickle cell mutation actually works. We will finish this assignment on friday as well.
As for HOSA this week:
- Monday - guest speaker who is a Medical Technologist
- Tuesday - biomed morning (all attendees need to read through the info on the website to be able to play the game)
