BOOT CAMP Week 4

ARE YOU ON THE RIGHT TRACK?

NO HITTING THE SNOOZE BUTTON!

Ok, I have been under the weather, under the sheets, and under the radar for over a week. This was a test! A test of the Emergency Boot Camp Attendees.. Did YOU pass? Let's read on and see??!!!

You were given the lessons, the schedule and the tools to make a fresh start to your old habit

Go back and SCAN the areas... Are they COMPLETELY done? Do they need a bit of straightening back up?

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

I hope you used this time to continue moving forward in the rooms and areas per scheduled and if you had a little break once your jobs were checked off.. Congratulations.. BUT now, MORE than BEFORE.. I need you to step it up.

Here is the next 7 days

Day 22-Attic

Day 23- Master Bedroom

Day 24-Jewelry Box, Closet and Shoe Rack

Day 25- Book Shelves and Picture Frames

Day 26- FREEZER

Day 27- Light bulbs and Trash Cans

Day 28- Deck

Here is the details

Depending on how much you stash in your ATTIC will determine a few hours or a whole week just here. Get to it! If the boxes are dusty, there is a first clue that you do not USE it. Open it up, take a gander and see what is inside. Family heirlooms? If so, FIND A PLACE TO ENJOY IT... if old buried treasures... like kids toys, clothes and "stuff" you failed to part with years ago...turn into CASH by dropping off to a consignment, donate and help others in need or simply open the bags, boxes, totes, baskets and more and say... hey friend, relative, neighbor... WANT ANYTHING?!!! hahah


For the MASTER BEDROOM, check the bed pillows, mattress quality and bedding- do they need replaced? Remove broken or old furniture that no longer serves the purpose and has become a catch all of laundry and dust. Clear off the dressers and nightstands to make it sleek and uncluttered.


Move to the JEWELRY BOX, CORNERS and NOOKS of the rooms and the SHOE RACKS- toss any fashion jewelry that has changed colors, lost its luster, or worn itself into a "days gone by era". REMOVE the shoes that are too high to wear, uncomfortable to jog in, wore out soles and outdated styles. Making room for the NEW!! REMEMBER- In with a new pair= Out with 2 pair (not 2 shoes!)


Glance at the SHELVES and FRAMES- are they cluttered with all kinds of knick knacks and patty whacks? Toss em out with the bone! Specials memories are great to display and a way to keep things "real" but when it is furry with dust, and just there because your child made them or it was a movie ticket from last week's date night and they were in your coat pocket.. Either put the memory "stuff" in a archival safe binder OR leave your memories in your heart and your shelves CLEAN! Ponder over the FRAMES.. Do they still work for the style you of your décor? Anything broken or chipped or simply rusty or ugly? Update with some cool new glass frames, wood that is distressed or mix and match to inspire the next chapter in being SIMPLY YOU as we advance to the cleaning part of this series.


Now that Spring is showing us a taste of what is to come.. let's talk below freezing temps thru the FREEZER! Toss out anything beyond a year (6 months actually if you are good!) (I know.. some things got pushed back or time goes and walla, you got old meat, freezer burned waffles, good intention loaves of bread that is dried up and nasty or those BUY ONE GET ONE free - so called good deals and they are consuming the racks inside. USE, ROTATE or PURGE !! Make your meal plan around the items you just saw in there and cook em up! Save $$ and make room for fresh stock to grace your freezer the whole summer long.


You ask LIGHTBULBS? YEP! replace them with NEW and ENERGY EFFICIENT styles. Save $$! How about those TRASH CANS??? Yep, them too can be replaced if you need a new one, or consider one on wheels (we only get older, why not be easier!)


Get ready to use your DECK... With the warmer weather approaching, take a note of furniture quality and any repairs or replacements needed. Remove the excess that didn't get used over the past two summers and toss out the broken that didn't survive the winters harsh treatments. Treat yourself to a seat in the lounge chair - BUT just for a moment.. because sitting in not on this list. You had all the time of the break from boot camp while I was sick in bed. The rooster has risen and this chick is BACK!
