Snyder's first tenure at K-State began on November 30, 1988. Over 22 seasons he has posted a record of 179-90-1, including a 95-60-1 mark in Big Eight/Twelve games. His 179 victories made him the school's all-time leader in coaching victories, Mike Ahearn's 39 wins rank second.
Bill Snyder was born on October 7, 1939, in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He earned a B.A. from William Jewell in 1963 and a M.A. from Eastern New Mexico in 1965. He was a three-year defensive back letter-winner at William Jewell. Snyder and his wife, Sharon, have two sons, three daughters, and eight grandchildren,
