Principal's Message

It is hard to believe it is already May and we are over 6 weeks into our new learning reality at this time. Remember we are here to support you during this time whether it be with online learning or print material. Somedays maybe harder than others while learning from home and we understand. Do what you can when you can! Outside play, reading a book, or cooking as a family are all great options!

As we move into the months of May and June, please continue to check our website for various updates. We post weekly video updates on Monday, online learning tools, and activity ideas to try. We will also be posting information for our Grade 5 students as they begin to prepare for their transition to ECKS. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition even within this difficult time. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at the school.

Grade 5 Transition to ECKS

A message from École Charlie Killam School to incoming Grade 6 students:

Hello parents and guardians!

We know you may have some questions about registration and what ÉCKS looks like. Check out these videos to get a virtual tour of our school, and meet some of the staff.

In the coming days, we will be sending out more videos about:

- Late French Immersion

- French Immersion

- Hockey Academy

- Soccer Academy

We are planning on having all these programs again next year, and we will make sure you have all the necessary information, including registration forms for these programs.

Registration for Grade 6 students who already attend BRSD schools is very easy. You already exist in our system, and we will be in contact with your current school to get your information.

Any students who currently do not attend a BRSD school will need to contact ÉCKS directly.

If you have any questions, please call the school at (780) 672-7785.

Thanks and take care!

Report Card & Assessment Information

Now that we know for sure classes will continue in an at-home format for the rest of this school year, our school division has created a consistent plan all BRSD schools will follow for marking and final report cards.

The detailed plan is posted on the BRSD website, in the Wellness and Learning Resources for Parents section. You can access the plan through this link.

You will also want to know that the last day of classes for all BRSD students, in all grades, is Friday, June 19.

That gives families the last week of June to pack up school work and make sure textbooks and other specialized resources or equipment is returned to the school building.

It also gives staff time to prepare detailed year-end summaries that school staff will use to ensure each student gets off to a good start in September.

Final report cards will be available on June 26.
