Directors Message
Dear parents,
I would like to thank all parents who are actively contributing to improving communication at Ajman Academy. We now have close to 80% of our parents using the D6 communicator. This application provides you with a wealth of information, details of homework, curriculum, sporting events and many other notices about your child's education.
I would like to congratulate all students who achieved such great results in the IBT tests showing that we truly have talent at Ajman Academy. This is just one aspect of your successes.
The contributions and successes in the BSME games , inter school sports, International Award, debating competitions, poetry, art, public speaking and many other activities is ensuring that every child has an opportunity to develop and excel.
Please do look closely at the GL parent reports, they will offer you a great deal of advice on how you too can help your child succeed in their areas of weakness and further develop their gifts.
Please read my article on how we use GL data at Ajman Academy. Very shortly our curriculum ladders will be published allowing you to track your child’s progress personally. Our focus on Academic standards is relentless, however, I do maintain that it is so important that your child enjoys their learning, remains motivated and gets an opportunity to talk about their learning to you as parents. Please encourage your child to read daily for enjoyment ensuring a variety of genres.
British Schools of the Middle East.
Ajman Academy is an active member of the BSME and our students compete with other schools in the region.
Formed in 1982, British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) provides a quality-assured network of schools helping Heads and Teachers share best practice and keep abreast of the latest educational developments. BSME runs its own Accreditation System, Annual Headteachers' Conferences, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme of over 100 courses per year and a range of inter school sports, music, arts and other events.
As you read this newsletter, I will be attending the conference to represent Ajman Academy (6th to 9th March) in Bahrain. I will remain in contact on email t.anastasiades@ajmanacademy.com for parents you need to reach out to me, and I will be in regular contact with the schools leadership team. Details of the conference can be found on the link below.
Recruitment
I am delighted to be able to inform you that I have almost completed the recruitment for the new academic year. As in any International community, teachers do move on, relocate and indeed look for further opportunities. This recruitment starts usually in January each academic year for September start.
Recruitment from Ajman Academy is aimed at selecting the best teachers internationally. I have interviewed teachers in Melbourne, Bangkok, London, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The recruitment process is very rigorous ensuring that our teachers have the qualifications and experience to deliver the nest education to your child.
I will shortly be sharing the new teachers with you once all HR procedures have been complete. I would like to maintain that the teachers that are leaving will continue to teach your child to the highest of expectations until the very last day. Our Incyte program developing outstanding teaching will now continue throughout the year further developing all our teachers.
